The Wallace Stegner Center 31st Annual Symposium - America’s Public Lands: At a Crossroads?

Thursday, March 19 2026 - Friday, March 20 2026

The Wallace Stegner Center’s 31st annual symposium will focus on one of the most pressing issues of our time: the future of our public lands. This is a vital issue locally and regionally. From stark shifts in law and policy regulating the designation and use of public lands to ongoing demographic and economic changes in the American West, from conflicts over recreation to wildfire and other growing threats, the way we use and protect public lands continues to rapidly evolve as the region does too.
